AUGUST 27, 2024 The Little Rock School District recently announced its selection as both a Winner and Selectee of the 2024 Renew America’s Schools Prize and Grant. Little Rock School District wins 2024 Renew America’s Schools Grant

At the heart of this achievement is our valued partner, Protect|ED, a national leader in delivering advanced air disinfection technology to educational institutions. Together with Energia, a leading K-12 Energy Management Consulting firm, Protect|ED played a pivotal role in securing this grant, highlighting the innovative Novaerus NanoStrike technology and the Protect 900 device.

The Protect 900, known for its remarkable efficiency and sustainability, features Novaerus’ patented NanoStrike technology. This breakthrough approach to air disinfection not only ensures the highest level of pathogen control but also operates with low power consumption and requires no consumables like filters, making it an ideal solution for schools. These attributes are particularly significant for the grant, which prioritizes energy efficiency alongside health and safety improvements.

With the grant funds, Little Rock School District will upgrade 17 buildings, enhancing both energy infrastructure and indoor air quality. This effort is part of a broader initiative to create healthier learning environments across the district, ensuring that students and staff are protected from airborne pathogens.

This opportunity was highly competitive, with only 16% of applicants receiving funding. Little Rock School District’s success in securing this grant highlights its strategic vision and dedication to fostering safe, energy-efficient school environments.

In addition to being awarded a $300,000 prize, the district has been invited to enter into a cooperative agreement with the DOE, valued at over $11 million dollars. This partnership will further the district’s efforts to provide state-of-the-art indoor air quality solutions, contributing to the health and success of its community.
