Objective

To assess the performance of the installed Novaerus test devices.

Methodology

Novaerus devices were installed in the admission room in the Pediatric Department and in the Clinic of Pulmonology/Tuberculosis and Pulmonary Diseases.

Summary of Results

In the admission room in the Pediatric Department, an initial baseline test was conducted to assess the current microbiological purity of the air, which produced a result of 183.46 CFU/m3 of air. Once the Novaerus devices were turned on, running 24 hours a day, it reduced to 104.83 CFU/m3 of air when tested a week later, and then to 72 CFU/m3 of air when tested a month later.

In the Clinic of Pulmonology/Tuberculosis and Pulmonary Diseases, an initial baseline test was conducted to assess the current microbiological purity of the air, which produced a result of 236 CFU/m3 of air. Once the Novaerus devices were turned on, running 24 hours a day, it reduced to 192 CFU/m3 of air when tested a week later.

The results presented indicate that Novaerus devices effectively reduce the number of airborne pathogens, having a positive effect on the epidemiological safety of both patients and hospital staff.
